Making a difference for Lake Huron ... starting in our gardens

The Port Franks Garden Club is hosting an event with two presenters talking about how we can make a difference, to land and water, in our own gardens.

Mike Smalls, a retired landscape gardener, will speak on biodiversity.

Jessica Van Zwol, of St. Clair Region Conservation Authority, will speak on greening our environment.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Port Franks Community Centre, west wing.

Admission is free.

Mike Smalls will inspire attendees to view their properties through a different lens.

"Let's consider small changes that collectively can bring about positive ecological change," organizers say.

Jessica Van Zwol is a watershed specialist. She will talk about how " ... we are all an important piece of the puzzle in the work to protect Lake Huron."

"We can all play a part in preserving our environment," according to organizers.
